Greg G. Nokes writes hopeful science fiction and poetry from Tacoma, Washington. His Confederation Universe stories are about found families, artificial minds, and what kinship looks like four thousand years from now. His chapbook Gods, all of us tells a nearer story: one life, in rooms — paper routes, night shifts, the long road towards something. He studied poetry with DeWayne Rail, one of Fresno’s Down at the Santa Fe Depot poets. Thirty years of building things in tech — from BBS-era systems to Heroku — inform the machines; a longer practice of paying attention informs the people. He grew up in Sebastopol, California, which explains a few things.
